Support

Support

Parents of ADHD children (ADD)

This support group is to help assist parent in strategies to manage their children that can be forgetful, disorganized, and sometimes defiant. This group serves to provide a psychoeducational base while offering a support system for parents who feel overwhelmed by their ADHD children at times.

Parent Grief support Group

This group was designed for parents who have suffered the death of a child. This group helps parents through the stages of grief while providing strategies to assist the mourning process. It serves as a support system for parents.

Dementia

A good network of support is important for someone who is the primary caregiver for a dementia patient. This is required both to assist in the patient's treatment and to provide occasional relief to the caregiver. Many caregivers serve as a helper or reference in the early stages, offering reminders for various activities.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that may be chronic or episodic (meaning it occurs only rarely and at irregular intervals). It may trigger a wide range of unusual, sometimes severe, and fluctuating mood, energy, movement, and attention or focus changes. Bipolar disorder is also known as bipolar depression or manic-depressive disorder, which are older expressions.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) is a mental health condition that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a potentially life-threatening event, such as combat, a natural disaster, a car accident, or sexual assault.

Personality Disorder

Each personality disorder has its own set of symptoms. They can range from mild to severe. Personality problems can make it difficult for people to recognize that they have a problem. Their thoughts are normal to them, but they frequently blame others for their problems. They may seek assistance due to issues with their relationships or problems in the workplace. Treatment usually consists of talk therapy and, on occasion, medication.
